Handover to another web-servant

All things change.
I guess I tried to do this web-servant thing even though I didn’t do it perfect. Progress not perfection, Right? That still applies. We figure out how to get things to carry the message to the addict who still suffers. That might be the newcomer or the old timer. The journey might still be rough for both. Still have to deal with life on life’s terms at whatever part you are in recovery. I still hope that we can treat each other with respect for the recover that is available. The “principles before personalities” is difficult at times when you have to practice them in tough situations.
Like standing up for recovery when a bunch of boys with years in recovery start to chase around newcomer girls. Especially when that girl is related to you somehow. Giving the newcomer the chance to get a lasting foothold in recovery is the gift that this program offers. Even with the best intentions of the encounter, it is extremely distracting to recovery.
I know from personal experience, that recovering addicts can die from it. That is why I had to say something. NA isn’t a date club. We share intimate details of life and people understand. We might choose to do that and even marry each other but that has it’s own difficulties too.
Recovery is a fragile thing for the first year. That’s one of the reasons it is called a gift. If you are an addict that stays clean for a year, it is a true miracle. Is destroying the miracle worth the price of the relationship? Do we really know where our good intentions will lead? Romance has all the thrills and spills that my active addiction had sometimes. Do people get hurt, Yes. Relations have to be cared for everyday or they become toxic or fade.
Anyway I’m stepping off the soapbox.
Need take care of life in front of me.
Let go and let God…
